Who needs their prehistoric god?
WHO NEEDS THEIR PREHISTORIC GOD

A Clamor from born-gain, right-wing authoritarian personalities, to put the Terrorist Almighty back into government again, arises to a high pitch during the Third World War on Terrorism declared by their born-again, right-wing president. He, like his presidential father before him, makes war on Iraq and throws the economy into the customary downward deficit while exploiting the poor to maintain the kept class in their accustomed luxury.
Now who needs a god in heaven when a devotee of Old Testament Texas justice is in the Oval Office? Has he not replaced maculated dresses and oral orifice misplacements with righteous respect for the foundation of private property in woman, whom he and he alone crowns?
What more could the religious right clamor for than this sublime power who has shocked and awed those whom he has crushed with the almighty might of the one and only superpower in the world? Why, this awesome reigning rainmaker made terror rain from the sky! He reduced a sovereign nation to rubble! that he may at gunpoint do the nation-building he promised he would never do, and thus demonstrate that omnipotence has the power to be a divine hypocrite and to amaze the world with his mysterious ways. And with that he has conveniently contradicted every promise but one: to wage war to save the world whether it likes it or not. That is what old kings are for - even elected kings. Their right to wage war is divine; that is to say, arbitrary.
And now we hear a masochistic clamor for even more discretionary justice to displace distributive justice; for, as the Psalms sing, those who are crushed are the closest to the landlord, and it is only on their knees, or preferably on their bellies as flat as matza, that frustrated Christian Hebrews can truly know and love the Hebrew tribal lord they still love to fear. Whereas the people once "raised a clamor" to French kings for discretionary mercy, for pardons, the religious right raises it like an iron rod to punish, to fill the prisons, to execute both guilty and innocent even though the murder rate tends to rise after each execution. But they forgive people before they kill them, so official murder is committed with a clean conscience.
But for them violence is really not the problem. Lex Taliones is the universal law of exchange; both in war and commerce profit is wanted, so perpetual strife to reach the golden meanness is assured. No, violence is not the problem: it is the ultimate solution to imbalance! Wherefore frustrated Christian Hebrews, who evoke the prehistorical regimen that the Jewish casuists softened centuries before the birth of Jesus, are no strangers to violence: millions upon millions have perished in massive orgies of mutual murder, often in the name of the same god of chance, to see who is favored by god.
And now they clamor for more; for how can love for the Terrorist Almighty increase without abundant terror? No, violence is not the problem: perverted love is the real problem for the religious right. Love for humans above, before, or besides the love for their awful lord is despised as 'humanism' even though they bow down to an image of a human and idolize other humans in contradiction to the very Hebrew principles they shout from the rooftops and erect in court houses without continuous, enlightening discussion of same. Their idea of perverted or abnormal love is the constitution of any sort of love they do not themselves feel or are tempted by and would rid others of. Indeed, they are obsessed with ridding the whole wise world of perversion. Of course they love the man but they hate the perversion: that allows them to mercifully punish perpetrators to save them. They lose sleep and frantically fret over how others may be privately employing their genitalia and orifices; yet they, who claim their sexual relations are best for the public, will not fornicate in public to show us all their best example.
Therefore I for one am exceedingly wary of the current clamor to "put god back in government." For freely voicing my objections, I have been called a "hateful" man, an "evil" man, a "traitor" and "satan" - and those are the euphemisms. One man said, "Yes, there is freedom of speech in this country, and you had better be willing to lose your life for it the way you are talking." Another man said, "The United States is a Christian nation, so if you don't like it stop whining and move to France." Yet another said, "I'd like to put you out of your misery, like I'd put a horse with a broken leg down." I understand that certain Baptist churches have gotten up a fund to ship Jews to Israel so the date of the apocalypse will be moved up, and that the Jews who have taken them up on the offer are thrilled. Those Baptists are merciful. Maybe they will get up a fund to ship me off to France before the prehistoric god is restored to directly govern the United States.
